Low Lying Fruit of Christianity

  • by

The HEALING of the tongue is a tree of life, And the one who GUARDS it will be FILLED with the SPIRIT (Prov 15:4 LXX) .

The low lying fruit of our branches – the most easily noticed and tasted words that come out of our mouth and that go deep into others either bring LIFE or DEATH to the hearer – either healing old wounds or creating fresh, deep wounds. Not only that, but those words either PLEASE or GRIEVE the Holy Spirit, both resulting in activity from the Spirit in FILLING or WITHDRAWING.

Be Fruitful!

The Husbandman of the Vine desires us to be like a well-trained and fertilized fruit tree in His orchard; bearing His seed-bearing fruit of Life, growing from a holy Root (full surrender and heart obedience to God in Christ) that will result in the HEALING of many nations.

“…and on either side of the river (of LIFE), was the Tree of Life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.” (Rev 22:2).

IF any of our branches or the very root itself (our heart) is producing BAD FRUIT, we must ask God to examine our heart – “search me, O Lord” – and YIELD to His pruning or His divine axe layed to the HEART of the problem. Allow Him to tear down the OLD, sow in the NEW, to fertilize and bring fresh LIVING water to a parched ground… GUARANTEED GROWTH!

“THEREFORE, as the Holy Spirit says: ‘Today, if you will hear His voice,  Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness…’ Beware, brothers and sisters, lest there be in any of you an EVIL HEART of UNBELIEF in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today,’ lest any of you be HARDENED through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, Hebrews 3:7-8, 12-14.

If we claim to HEAR His voice, if we claim to have ears (a desire) to hear, we WILL be working toward SOFTENING our hearts and doing the will of God.
