Blissfully Blind

  • by

Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, “Do you believe in the Son of God?” He answered and said, “Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?” And Jesus said to him, “You have both seen Him and it is He who is talking with you.” Then he said, “Lord, I believe!” And he worshiped Him. And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind.” Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.” (John 9:35-41)

Belief in Jesus as Son of Almighty Father God requires, no demands one’s admission of their own spiritual blindness. Why is it that the Pharisees (and most Jews at that time) couldn’t “handle the Truth” of God in Christ Jesus? They were blinded by the light of their glory; their own ways, and their  wisdom.

Amazingly, spiritual blindness is most always accompanied with the blind claiming to have near perfect eyesight! This is what Jesus was referring to: their unwillingness to recognize Him as the Son of God coupled with their stubborn continuance in denying their spiritual blindness.Read More »Blissfully Blind

The “Eternal Purpose” of God

Meditate on this Truth of God FOR and IN US — those who believe in the mind-transforming promises of God!

Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. (Eph 3:20-21)

Paul’s use of  “exceedingly abundantly above all” sounds very similar to his use of “width and length and depth and height” in describing the love of Christ; the fulness of God in the preceding verses (Eph 3:18-19).

Just how BIG or GREAT or MASSIVE is this power that Paul is trying to convey?Read More »The “Eternal Purpose” of God
