Every person has at sometime walked in this very weighty, painful and desolate place the psalmist describes. “My flesh and my heart fail”, as if to say “I’m at the end of my rope, I don’t think I can take it anymore. My heart feels like it’s been so trampled by a herd of buffalo and surely they don’t stop. The strength of my physical body, my ability to keep doing your will, O God, and to stay your course, and to even get out of bed, is found wanting.
